6x7VideoThe video is the result of our investigation into the interference of image and patterns in ornamental structures. Using multiple mirroring practically every image can be transferred into an ornamental structure, there is however a border upon which the original image loses its impact and becomes a structural element of the resulting ornament.
6x7 is an homage to the movie director and choreographer Busby Berkely, who also constructed his dancing scenes with ornamental structures – by multiplication of actors. Through increasing and decreasing the number of spatial repetitions of the moving image we apply a second layer of ornament, allowing the original movie to oscillate between being a whole image or a structural element. |
